Low Carbon Consumption Project Newsletter Issue 7
Energy Foundation China has long concerned ourselves about low carbon systems of Chinese cities. We support research on national low carbon policy, test comprehensive/special planning for pilot cities, and explore innovative low carbon solutions to help Chinese cities realize early carbon peaking and neutrality. Sustainable urban development needs to be people-oriented, while green and decarbonized consumption from urban residents is an important driver for carbon mitigation in cities. Energy Foundation China’s Low Carbon Cities Program has focused on a local-level Low Carbon Consumption Project for the past couple of years and launched its second phase in 2022. For better communication, we have produced this Low Carbon Consumption Project Newsletter series, which regularly introduces policies, urban actions, industry voices, academic research, and our project progress. We hope that this series will inspire stakeholders to think and act more on the frontiers of low carbon consumption.
